This Giving Tuesday: Support Those Who Answer the Call

When a crisis strikes, first responders run toward the danger. They comfort the injured, calm the frightened, and stand between chaos and community. But who stands with them when the weight of what they witness becomes too heavy to carry alone?

That's where the Tri-State First Responder Peer Support Team steps in. Courage shouldn't come at the cost of mental health. Peer support saves lives. Every first responder deserves someone who understands.

We Stand With Those Who Serve

First responders face trauma that most of us will never see — repeated exposure to loss, violence, and human suffering that takes a profound toll on mental health. Depression, PTSD, anxiety, and tragically, suicide rates among firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and dispatchers continue to climb.

Yet accessing support remains challenging. Stigma, lack of resources, and the culture of "toughness" can prevent those who save lives from seeking the help they need and deserve.

The Tri-State First Responder Peer Support Team exists to bridge that gap — connecting first responders with peers who understand, resources that work, and support when it matters most.

In 2025, We Made a Difference

  • Connected with over 2,000 first responders across the tri-state region
  • Partnered with 50 departments to build and strengthen peer support teams
  • Responded to potentially traumatic events with immediate peer support
  • Designed specialized training on mental health and resilience tailored to first responder culture
  • Vetted clinical resources to ensure cultural competence and understanding
  • Made access to professional help easier by connecting responders with the right support at the right time

We don't provide clinical therapy — we provide something just as critical: a bridge to help, built by those who've walked the same path.

This Giving Tuesday, You Can Expand Our Reach

 Your donation will help us:

  • Develop new peer support teams in departments that need them
  • Train more peer supporters to recognize signs of distress and provide meaningful support
  • Respond to critical incidents with compassionate, immediate peer assistance
  • Connect first responders with vetted, culturally competent clinical resources
  • Create resilience training programs that normalize mental health conversations

Every Dollar Strengthens the Network

  •  $50 provides training materials for a new peer supporter
  • $150 funds a potentially traumatic event incident response deployment
  • $300 supports the development of a peer support team in a new department
  • $500 sponsors resilience training for an entire station or shift

Those who protect us deserve protection too. On this Giving Tuesday, will you stand with the Tri-State First Responder Peer Support Team?
